Grants for Beauty Professionals 2026: The Complete Guide
From $1K to $100K: every grant available for independent beauty professionals in 2026, including programs for Black, Latina, and women-owned businesses.

There is free money on the table for independent beauty professionals right now. Not hypothetically. Specifically: grants for Black stylists, grants for Latina estheticians, grants for women-owned beauty businesses, grants for licensed cosmetologists who want to level up their education, and grants for anyone brave enough to build a career on their own terms.
The problem is that nobody in this industry tells you about them in one place. You hear about one grant from a Facebook group, miss the deadline, and forget it existed until next year. That ends today.
This is the most complete grant guide available for independent beauty professionals in 2026, organized by who you are and what you need. Bookmark it. Share it with your booth neighbor. Come back every quarter because new cycles open regularly.
First: What Can a Grant Actually Cover?
A grant is money you do not have to pay back. Unlike a loan, there is no interest. Unlike a credit card, there is no minimum payment. You apply, you win, and you receive funds to invest in your business.
What most beauty professional grants allow you to use the money for: equipment upgrades (chairs, HVLP machines, sterilization equipment, UV lamps), education and certifications, marketing and branding, booth or suite rent, product inventory, business tools and software, and sometimes just operating costs while you build your client base.
Grant amounts range from $250 to $100,000 depending on the program. Many beauty professionals assume grants are only for large companies or nonprofits. That is not true. Many of the programs listed below were built specifically for solo stylists, booth renters, suite owners, and mobile beauty pros.
Grants Specifically for Black Beauty Professionals
This section is the most important one on this page and the least talked about. These programs exist because Black-owned beauty businesses face documented funding gaps that general small business programs do not address. Every one of the programs below was designed with Black beauty professionals in mind.
L'Oréal x NAACP Inclusive Beauty Fund
Amount: Six grants of $25,000 each Who it is for: Entrepreneurs in the beauty industry, including salons, spas, barbershops, independent stylists, makeup artists, haircare specialists, and beauty schools Application platform: Hello Alice and naacp.org Cycle: 2026 applications ran through April; watch for the 2027 cycle to open in early spring
This is one of the most significant recurring grant programs in the beauty industry. L'Oréal partners with the NAACP annually to distribute $150,000 total to beauty entrepreneurs. The focus is on removing economic barriers for professionals who have been historically underserved by traditional business funding. If you missed the 2026 window, set a calendar reminder for March 2027 and start preparing your application now.
Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund
Amount: $25,000 grants to cosmetology schools, 10 institutions funded in 2026 Who it is for: Beauty school students and institutions prioritizing inclusive, textured hair education Founded by: Beyoncé Knowles-Carter through the BeyGOOD Foundation and Cécred Website: cecred.com/pages/philanthropy
In 2026, the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund committed $250,000 across 10 institutions in the US and UK, with a focus on keeping beauty education affordable and accessible for aspiring cosmetologists. If you are currently in beauty school, ask your institution whether they participate or plan to apply.
SheaMoisture Dream Fund
Amount: $10,000 to $25,000 Who it is for: Black women-owned businesses in beauty and wellness Partner: SheaMoisture and Brown Girl Jane Application: Opens in fall each year
The Dream Fund focuses on Black female entrepreneurs in beauty and wellness who have been in business for at least one year. It does not require you to be a product brand; independent service providers qualify. The partnership with Brown Girl Jane means applications often come with mentorship and visibility support, not just cash.
Sephora Beauty Grant (via 15 Percent Pledge)
Amount: Up to $100,000 Who it is for: Beauty brands or businesses where at least one founding member identifies as Black/African American, AAPI, Hispanic/Latinx, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, a first-generation immigrant, or a parent with earned income below the poverty level Website: 15percentpledge.org/award/sephora Cycle: Applications typically open for four weeks per annual cycle
This is the largest single beauty-focused grant on this list. The application requires a business profile in Sephora's Business Equity Community, so set that up now even if the current cycle is closed. The 2026 program continues a legacy that has supported transformative founders in the beauty space.
NAACP Powershift Entrepreneur Grant
Who it is for: Black entrepreneurs and business owners across sectors including beauty Website: naacp.org/find-resources/grants
This is a broader entrepreneurship grant, not beauty-specific, but beauty professionals have received it and it is well worth applying for. Check the NAACP grants page for current cycles and requirements as deadlines shift year to year.
SoGal Foundation Black Founder Startup Grant
Amount: Up to $10,000 Who it is for: Black, mixed-race, and nonbinary entrepreneurs with registered businesses Website: sogalfoundation.com
The SoGal Foundation focuses on underrepresented founders and has specifically supported beauty and wellness businesses. This is a strong option for independent beauty pros who are in early-stage business building.
Do You Fund (digitalundivided)
Amount: $5,000 plus mentorship and support Who it is for: Black and Latinx women entrepreneurs
digitalundivided built the Do You Fund specifically to address the gap in funding for Black and Latinx women-owned businesses. It is not beauty-specific but has supported service-based businesses including beauty professionals. Check current application windows at digitalundivided.com.
Coalition to Back Black Businesses
Amount: $5,000 to $25,000 Who it is for: Black-owned small businesses Partner: U.S. Chamber of Commerce
This program provides both grants and longer-term resources including training and community support. Beauty service businesses are eligible. Check uschamber.com for current eligibility cycles.
Grants for Latina and Hispanic Beauty Professionals
L'Oréal x Hispanic Federation Inclusive Beauty Fund
Amount: Six grants of $25,000 each Who it is for: Beauty businesses, salon owners, estheticians, barbers, stylists, and beauty influencers across the United States Website: hispanicfederation.org Language: Application available in both English and Spanish Cycle: 2026 applications were open in spring; watch for the 2027 opening
This is the direct parallel to the NAACP program and arguably even more underutilized by its target audience. L'Oréal partners with the Hispanic Federation to distribute $150,000 total to Hispanic and Latina beauty entrepreneurs. The application is available in Spanish, the program is specifically designed for Latina and Hispanic-owned beauty businesses, and competition is lower than many comparable grants. This one is worth prioritizing every cycle.
Chicana Latina Foundation Grant
Who it is for: Latina women entrepreneurs in California and the broader U.S. Website: chicanalatina.org
This foundation supports Latina women in business with scholarships and grants. Beauty professionals building their own independent businesses have qualified in previous cycles.
Waves of Change Grant
Who it is for: Women of color in early-stage businesses generating $50,000 or less per year What it covers: Operating costs for one year
Built for women of color who are still in the early stages of building client bases and revenue. This is a strong fit for newer independent beauty professionals who are not yet at full capacity.
Grants for Women-Owned Beauty Businesses
Amber Grant (WomensNet)
Amount: $10,000 monthly, $50,000 at year-end (three awarded annually) Application fee: $15 Who it is for: Any business at least 50% women-owned, U.S. or Canada Application: ambergrantsforwomen.com Deadline: Rolling monthly, apply anytime
The Amber Grant is the most accessible women's business grant on this list. There is no minimum time in business, which makes it especially valuable for newer independent professionals. The application is brief: you tell your story and explain what you would do with the money. There is a dedicated Hair and Skin Care category, which means beauty professionals are a natural fit. The $15 application fee enters you into the monthly $10,000 grant, the startup grant, and the business category grant automatically.
Beauty Changes Lives Foundation
Amount: Varies by program; scholarships from $2,500 to $5,000 Who it is for: Beauty school students AND licensed professionals seeking continuing education Website: beautychangeslives.org Total awarded: Over $3.1 million to beauty professionals
Beauty Changes Lives is the most prolific scholarship organization in the professional beauty industry. NASE Growth Grant
Amount: Up to $4,000 Who it is for: NASE members in good standing for at least 3 months What it covers: Equipment, marketing, expansion, business tools Deadline: Ongoing Website: nase.org
The NASE Growth Grant is available year-round, which makes it unique on this list. If you are a self-employed beauty professional (which includes booth renters, suite owners, and mobile artists), NASE membership opens the door to this grant immediately.
Cartier Women's Initiative Award
Amount: $30,000 (3rd place), $60,000 (2nd place), $100,000 (1st place) Who it is for: Women entrepreneurs globally with businesses addressing economic, social, or environmental issues What it includes: Cash plus coaching, networking, and mentorship Website: cartier.com/women-initiative
This is a higher-bar program, but independent beauty professionals who position their business around community impact, education, or sustainability have qualified. If your business story is about economic independence for your community, it is worth exploring.
The Primzy Professional Freedom Grant
Primzy was built on the belief that independent beauty professionals deserve real investment in their careers, not just a place to manage bookings. That belief is backed up with our own grant program.

How to Apply and Actually Win
Most beauty professionals lose grants not because they are unqualified, but because they rush the application or undersell their story.
Start with your story. Grant committees are people. They fund people they believe in. Before you fill in a single field, write two or three sentences about why you do this work and who you do it for. That answer belongs in every application you submit.
Be specific about the money. "I want to grow my business" loses to "I will use $5,000 to purchase an HVLP spray tan machine, fund three months of product supply, and hire a local photographer for my booking profile." Specificity shows you have a real plan.
Apply before you feel ready. Most people wait until they feel more established to apply for grants. The programs designed for early-stage professionals go undersubscribed because of this. Apply now.
Track every deadline. Set calendar reminders three weeks before each deadline, not the week before. You need time to gather documents, write your narrative, and review.
Apply to more than one. There is no rule that says you can only apply for one grant at a time. Build a list, rotate your applications, and reuse your story across programs that allow it.
Build the Business While You Build the Funding
Winning a grant is one milestone. Keeping and growing your clients is another. Primzy gives independent beauty professionals the tools to do both: booking management, client CRM, rebooking reminders, and the analytics to know exactly where your business stands.
No commission on your existing clients. Just your business, organized and growing.
