Silk presses out of control in 2026??
Posted by Anonymous
I just went to book a silk press with a new "expert content creator" stylist and her base price was $165 without a trim or deep condition! I swear just a few years ago a hunderd bucks flat got you the whole package.
What is a truly fair price for a silk press right now? Please tell me what y'all are paying out here so I know if I’m getting scammed or if inflation just took over the hair world.

Anything lower than $70 usually means a beginner or a fast-paced "wash-and-set" spot where you risk heat damage. Anything over $150 should be a deluxe package or a major city rate (NYC/LA/DC

honestly these prices are why i started doing my own at home smh. 165 for just a wash and flat iron is actual robbery, she better be using literal gold flakes in that shampoo lol

I think it really depends on your area! All pricing on Primzy is set by the pros and up to their discretion. I hope you find the right stylist!

Just remember that length and density tax is real now too. If your hair is past your bra strap or super thick, most people are adding an extra $20–$40 because it takes double the time to blow out and flat iron safely. Always read their fine print before you book!
