The Walk-In Queue
Add walk-ins from the front desk or the in-store QR code, confirm public joins, and notify clients when their chair is ready.
-
Open your dashboard
The Walk-In Queue captures anyone who shows up without an appointment — from the front desk or by scanning your in-store QR code — as a real booking your calendar already understands.
-
Go to Salon > Walk-In Queue
Walk-In Queue lives under the Salon tab, alongside Employees, Inventory, Insurance, Scheduling, and Time Clock.
-
Click "Add Walk-In"
This is how the front desk adds someone who walks in without booking online first. The same button sits in the page header once the queue has people in it — this is the empty-queue view.
-
Fill in the client and service, then click "Add to Queue"
Pick New Client or Existing Client, choose the service they want, and optionally assign a staff member. A new client gets a Primzy account automatically so they receive the "chair is ready" text. Add to Queue stays disabled until everything required is filled in.
-
A QR self-join needs a "Confirm" first
Someone who scans the in-store QR code joins the queue themselves, but the front desk still confirms their name, email, and phone before they're fully in — Primzy matches them to an existing client account by email automatically.
-
Check the details, then click "Confirm"
The name, email, and phone from the QR join are prefilled — fix anything that looks wrong before confirming.
-
Click "Notify Ready" when their chair opens up
This texts the client that it's their turn — there's no separate "seated" status to set beforehand, this is the one action front desk takes once a chair is free.
