Beauty School Scholarships for 2027: Deadlines Still Open
Verified beauty school scholarships with deadlines after November 4, 2026, plus the 2027 windows for cosmetology, esthetics, nails and barbering, with amounts, who qualifies, and scam warnings.

Quick answer
As of November 4, 2026, these beauty school scholarships have deadlines still ahead: the Sport Clips Scholarship ($5,000, window ends December 31, 2026), Milady RISE ($500, November 15), Premiere Anaheim (free admission, November 16), and the Moroccanoil Scholarship ($2,500, November 30). The Great Clips Great Scholarship (up to $5,000) closes its spring period on March 1, and Beauty Changes Lives opens a winter window on December 1. Every entry below comes from the funder's own page, checked 2026-11-04.
The 2027 cycle is mostly a repeat of the 2026 calendar. Beauty Changes Lives runs four seasons a year, Great Clips runs spring and fall, and the Professional Beauty Association posts dates into mid-2027. Where a funder has not posted 2027 details yet, we say so and tell you which month to watch. Confirm every date on the funder page before you apply, because deadlines move.
Scholarships with deadlines still ahead
All amounts and dates below were read on the funder's own page on 2026-11-04.
| Scholarship (funder) | Amount | Who qualifies | Deadline | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sport Clips Scholarship (Sport Clips Haircuts) | $5,000 each, up to 10 students, paid to your school | Enrolled in a barber or cosmetology program, at least 50% of hours done, 80% attendance, 80% grade average, financial need, school official verifies | Q4 window October 1 to December 31, 2026. No 2027 windows posted yet (the 2026 cycle started January 1, so watch for January) | Sport Clips, "Scholarship Application" |
| Milady RISE Scholarship (Milady, run by the PBA Foundation) | $500 awards | Milady RISE Certified in Client Well-Being & Safety, and enrolled in good standing (or a licensed pro) | November 15, 2026 | PBA, "Scholarships" |
| Moroccanoil Scholarship (shown with the Moroccanoil logo on the PBA page) | Five at $2,500 | Age 18+, U.S. citizen, cosmetology student at an independent (not brand-affiliated) school, proof of enrollment and costs | November 30, 2026 | PBA, "Scholarships" |
| Premiere student scholarships (My Salon Suite Suite Relief Scholarship Program with PBA) | Free admission to a trade show, no cash value (Anaheim: 75 passes) | Enrolled in a U.S. or Canadian cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, nail or massage program, age 16+ | Anaheim November 16, 2026; Orlando March 15, 2027; San Antonio June 7, 2027; Columbus June 21, 2027 | PBA, "Scholarships" |
| Great Clips Great Scholarship Program (Great Clips) | Up to $5,000 each, over $100,000 a year | U.S. or Canada cosmetology or barbering students, original essay required | Spring period runs September 2 to March 1, winners told by April 30 (the page prints no year, so read it as March 1, 2027) | Great Clips, "Scholarship Application" |
| Joseph L. Weir Memorial Scholarship (Joseph L. Weir Trust, via PBA Charities) | Five at $500 | Current PBA Licensed Professional or Student Members | March 31, 2027 | PBA, "Scholarships" |
| Beauty Changes Lives scholarships (many funders) | BCL says it awards over $500,000 a year. Its fall 2026 calendar listed individual awards from $1,500 to $20,000 | Proof of acceptance or current enrollment for student awards, plus award-specific rules | Winter window December 1 to January 31; spring March 1 to April 30. Winter award listings were not posted on 2026-11-04 | BCL, "Scholarships & Opportunities" |
| Green Circle Salons Student Scholarship (Green Circle Salons, via PBA) | Two at $2,500 | Enrolled in a U.S. or Canadian cosmetology or barbering program, age 18+, financial need | The page prints November 1, 2027. Other entries on that page use 2026 dates, so confirm this one with PBA | PBA, "Scholarships" |
PBA's page was last modified on November 2, 2026, and its Milady entry carries a notification date that looks like a typo (it says January 1, 2026). That is one more reason to read the funder page, not a summary of it.
Past 2026 dates that point to the 2027 pattern
These dates have already passed. Do not plan around them, but they show when to watch.
- Beauty Changes Lives fall: the 2026 fall deadline was October 31, 2026 (past), so the 2027 fall window will likely follow a similar pattern (check the funder page). The fall 2026 list included awards such as K18 at $20,000, L'Oréal Professionnel at $5,000 and the Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation at $6,500 (BCL fall 2026 calendar, PDF). Applications go through BCL's application portal, which says applications close at 11:59 PM Pacific and that there are no extensions.
- Minerva Beauty scholarship (PBA): the October 2026 round closed October 15, 2026 (past) and offered $3,000 total, including one $2,000 student award (PBA, "Minerva Scholarship Terms October 2026"). A July 2026 round also existed, so the 2027 rounds will likely follow a similar pattern (check the funder page).
- Great Clips fall: the fall 2026 deadline was September 1, 2026 (past). Great Clips says its application is open year-round, with spring and fall awards (Great Clips, "Helping Future Stylists and Barbers").
For the earlier fall list, see our fall 2026 cosmetology scholarship deadlines.
Federal aid and workforce money
FAFSA and Pell Grant. Federal Student Aid announced that the 2027-28 FAFSA would be available on fafsa.gov by October 1, 2026, so it should be open now (FSA Partner Connect, "2027-28 FAFSA Prototype Now Available" (September 3, 2026)). We could not load a federal deadline for 2027-28, so ask your school for its own deadline. The maximum Pell Grant for 2026-27 is $7,395, effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 (FSA, GEN-26-01 (January 30, 2026, updated February 18, 2026)). Pell goes to undergraduates with financial need, and it generally does not have to be repaid (Federal Student Aid, "Don't Miss Out on Federal Pell Grants" (checked 2026-11-04)). Whether your program qualifies depends on your school, so ask its financial aid office. We did not find a 2027-28 maximum on a page we could read.
State workforce money (WIOA). The Department of Labor says American Job Center staff provide training services with WIOA Adult funds and must give priority to public assistance recipients, other low-income people and people who are basic skills deficient (U.S. Department of Labor, "WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker Program" (checked 2026-11-04)). CareerOneStop adds that services vary by state and tells you to contact your local center (CareerOneStop, "Find money for training" (checked 2026-11-04)). Find yours with the American Job Center finder. There is no fixed amount or national deadline, so it is not in the table.
How to stack grants and aid
Most students combine several sources. A workable order:
- File the FAFSA and ask your financial aid office what it covers for your program.
- Call your local American Job Center about WIOA training funds.
- Apply to funder scholarships, starting with the soonest deadline.
Keep a few rules in mind. Sport Clips pays its award to your school on your behalf, so ask your school how outside awards are applied to your balance. Beauty Changes Lives lets you apply to more than one scholarship, but you can only be awarded one, and a student winner cannot win another student award (BCL, "FAQ" (checked 2026-11-04)). For taxes, the IRS says scholarship money for required tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment is generally not taxable for a degree candidate, while room and board is (IRS, "Topic no. 421, Scholarship and fellowship income" (reviewed September 24, 2026)). Confirm with a tax professional whether your program counts.
Ask whether an award can cover your kit, too. Our student kit cost breakdown shows what to expect, and the free resources list for beauty school students covers cheaper ways to fill the gaps. After you finish, see grants for beauty professionals, and check what cosmetologists make when you weigh how much to borrow.
How to avoid scholarship scams
The Federal Trade Commission lists the warning signs: a guarantee or "money back," a fee to apply or "process" the award, a request for your card or bank number to "hold" a scholarship, and a "finalist" notice for a contest you never entered (FTC, "How To Avoid Scholarship and Financial Aid Scams" (updated December 18, 2025)). The FTC also says to fill out the FAFSA yourself, never share your FSA ID, and report scams at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
In practice: apply only on the funder's page from the links above, and be careful with sites that ask you to pay for a "scholarship list."
One free tool while you study
Primzy gives enrolled beauty students a free pro account. It is free until your expected graduation date or until the 30-day free trial ends, whichever is later. You pick your school and a future expected graduation date, and students cannot use Salon Mode. See the free student account page for details.
Pick your next step
- If a deadline is within 30 days, apply today to the Sport Clips Scholarship, Milady RISE or Moroccanoil and gather your proof of enrollment first.
- If you are applying in winter or spring, set reminders for the Beauty Changes Lives windows (December 1 and March 1) and Great Clips (March 1).
- If you need more than scholarships, file the FAFSA and call your local American Job Center this week.
- If you want a free pro account while you are still enrolled, set up a student account.

Frequently asked questions
What beauty school scholarships are still open after November 2026?
As checked on November 4, 2026, the Sport Clips Scholarship window runs through December 31, 2026 ($5,000 awards). The Professional Beauty Association's page lists Milady RISE (November 15, 2026), Premiere Anaheim (November 16, 2026) and the Moroccanoil Scholarship (November 30, 2026). Beauty Changes Lives lists a winter window of December 1 to January 31 on its scholarships page.
When do 2027 cosmetology scholarship applications open?
Beauty Changes Lives lists four seasons a year: spring (March 1 to April 30), summer (June 1 to July 31), fall (September 1 to October 31) and winter (December 1 to January 31), per its scholarships page checked November 4, 2026. Great Clips lists a spring application period of September 2 to March 1, with winners notified by April 30. Individual awards inside each season are posted by the funder, so check the funder page.
Can I use the FAFSA for beauty school?
Maybe. Federal Student Aid announced on September 3, 2026 that the 2027-28 FAFSA would be available on fafsa.gov by October 1, 2026, and the maximum Pell Grant for 2026-27 is $7,395 (Dear Colleague Letter GEN-26-01). Whether you can use federal aid depends on whether your school and program are eligible, so ask the school's financial aid office before you apply.
How do I know a beauty school scholarship is not a scam?
The Federal Trade Commission (page updated December 18, 2025) says to walk away from any scholarship that asks for a fee, a card or bank number to hold an award, or promises a guaranteed win. Apply only through the funder's own page, and never share your FSA ID with anyone.
Is beauty school scholarship money taxable?
The IRS (Topic 421, reviewed September 24, 2026) says scholarship money used for required tuition and fees, books, supplies and equipment is generally not taxable for a degree candidate at a qualifying school, while money used for room, board or travel is. Rules for non-degree programs can differ, so confirm with a tax professional.
